A Successful Sample Sale and VdU Anniversary

It's a wrap!

Last week, we successfully held our first sample sale of the year and opened the Melagence showroom to all fashion enthusiasts. With a diverse selection of designer and vintage pieces, including exclusive items from Zenggi, Valentine Witmeur, and Christian Wijnants, there was something for everyone's eye.

A particular highlight of the sample sale was the visit from the Verbund deutscher Unternehmerinnen (VdU). The group of about 30 women brought a lively atmosphere to our showroom and exchanged ideas about the various clothing pieces over snacks and drinks. With advice from one another and, of course, from Mela, every visitor found the perfect piece for themselves.

The Verbund deutscher Unternehmerinnen (VdU) has been representing the interests of women entrepreneurs across various industries since 1954. Their goal is to promote female entrepreneurship, increase the number of women in leadership positions, and create better conditions for women in the economy.

On the occasion of the organization's 70th anniversary, female entrepreneurs, politicians, and guests from the business and societal world gathered for the annual meeting of the VdU here in Berlin. Alongside a grand gala evening, many other activities were planned, spanning over two days for participants to attend. These included inspiring keynotes providing insights into the history and future of female entrepreneurship. Panel discussions illuminated current challenges and opportunities for female entrepreneurs, providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Another highlight were the networking sessions, offering participants the chance to forge valuable connections and network with one another. Particularly exciting was the presentation of the VdU Entrepreneurship Award, bestowed upon outstanding entrepreneurs distinguished by their innovation and dedication. The anniversary not only offers a retrospective on seven decades of tireless commitment but also a glimpse into the future goals of the association.
